My name is Mati H Fuller. By trade I am a certified esthetic clinician, a homeopathic healer, an author of two books and the founder of Green Beauty Cosmetics natural skincare line. I
have created a skin care line for women with dry, dull, menopausal skin,
like I have. My goal was to create a line of skincare products that will
help menopausal women preserve their natural youthfulness and radiance
longer, and I also wanted it to be a safe and natural alternative to toxic
skin care products so that you can care for your skin without having to
compromise your health in the process. Because I was born in Norway, my skin has always been naturally thin, delicate and somewhat sensitive with a tendency for dryness and wrinkles. In addition, I also suffered severe frostbite when I almost froze to death in the mountains in my late teens, and as a result, my cheeks turned into rough red patches that burned and cracked every time the weather turned cold. This started my search for the perfect skin cream, and I tried dozens of different brands over the years. Eventually, the skin on my cheeks improved, but when I hit menopause, the dryness came back, and more wrinkles showed up around my eyes. This time, I went for the anti-aging creams with different types of exotic ingredients, like alpha-hydroxy acids, peptides, collagen, hyaluronic acid and anti-oxidants, and what a disappointment most of them were! |

I discovered that the collagen cream I was using actually contained no
collagen at all, the alpha-hydroxy acid was suspended in propylene glycol
which is another word for anti-freeze, and who knows what amount of peptides
the anti-aging creams contained! It could have been minimal amounts! All
I know is, they didn't make any visible improvements to my skin, and the
thing that all these creams had in common was that they were full of toxic,
carcinogenic or DNA-altering chemicals that could compromise my health,
including the so-called "organic" creams! I was shocked to find
that a skin care product only has to contain 70% organic ingredients to
be qualified as organic. The rest can be pure poison, and it is still
fine to call the product "organic" and charge more for the products!
When I discovered this, I felt deceived and disappointed! Why should companies take advantage of my desire to preserve my youthfulness a little longer by selling me hyped up toxic products that could jeopardize my health? I felt that my trust was betrayed every time I was fooled into buying one of these products, and that something had to be done! Because I believe that you have to BE THE CHANGE you want, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own chemical free skin care line as a truly natural alternative to toxic skin care products, and I called it Green Beauty Cosmetics. Since I studied chemistry in my early days and I worked in different hospital labs as a lab technician for 2 years, I felt that I had enough experience to pull it off. I also studied advanced skin care from Victoria Rayner which gave me the title "Esthetic Clinician" before I started developing the products.
Making skin care products are really fun - a little bit of this, a little
bit of that...I know what I want the finished product to be like. The
trick is to figure out how to get the right feel, texture and smell,
and the biggest challenge of all in natural cosmetics formulation -
how to make a stable solution! To check for stability, I bring my products
with me to the swimming pool and let them sit in my hot bag for hours,
and if they don't separate, then I know I have a good product (just,
don't try this at home...) P.S. Please feel free to email me with questions about which products that would be best for your individual skin type. |
