Who is Mati Fuller?
Hi lovely ladies! I am Mati Fuller, a super creative, free spirited, bohemian, menopausal Earth Goddess who is here to share with you my natural cosmetics line, beauty tips, what colors to wear, mature makeovers, how to survive menopause and other cool girly Goddess things.
I was born and raised in Bergen, Norway and came to the USA in 1985. I have worked for myself most of my adult life, and I always have at least 3-4 projects going on at the same time because there is just so little time and soooo many cool ideas to create! I have 2 highly spirited indigo kids and 2 gorgeous, snugly cats.
I live in a tiny town in the mountains of Colorado, and I love the silence - it is such a source of inspiration for me because everything is so beautiful and majestic here. It makes me feel like I'm an important part of something so much bigger than myself!
I'm alive, which to me is the most exciting thing, ever! Every day is a new day, with new possibilities and new potential!!! So, when I first open my eyes in the morning, I ask myself, what shall I create today? And, as soon as fresh ideas start coming, I can't wait to jump out of bed and get started! I just love being alive!!!
My Beliefs About Life
I believe that life is miraculous and awesome, and I'm so glad to be here!
I believe that we are here to learn from everything that happens to us.
I believe that Goddess energy flows through us all and wants to express itself through our creativity.
And, I believe that we are here to share what we have learned with each other.
We are all in this together, and together we can help each other reach our highest potential by learning to celebrate our own uniqueness and by living our dreams.
My mission is to inspire people to believe that this is possible, and that we can all make a difference in the world if we share our unique gifts with each other...
The Story of Green Beauty and Menopause
I didn't mind turning 40. I had just gone through divorce, so I decided to have a "new life" party for myself, and I was celebrating and having fun. But, turning 50 was a totally different experience for me.
At 50, I had just hit menopause and I wasn't happy about it. This was a transition that I really didn't look forward to. No more moon cycles, no more babies, just looking forward to sags, bags, wrinkles, getting old, gray hair, yikes!!!! I totally panicked, and all I could feel inside me was one big NO!
I was in total denial - this isn't happening, I'm still young, I feel young, bla, bla, bla...
I was struggling to accept the unavoidable truth of the situation, but I didn't do a very good job. I was also going through another transition - the book business I had on amazon.com kind of died because everybody else had also started selling books, so my income was seriously dwindling. And, the house was up for sale. So, basically everything was up in the air.
When the house sold, I decided that it was no longer fun to be self-employed. It was downright scary, and I started dreaming about having a regular paycheck. So, we packed everything up and went to Eugene, Oregon and tried to apply for regular jobs. And, what a joke that was.... my resume was a mile long with no references from anyone, since I had always been self-employed, and it didn't take long to realize that there were no job openings of any kind for my husband at the time, or for me.
The realization that I was 50 and unemployable hit me in the face. I still had two kids to support, so now what? I was in total anguish, and I also hated Eugene. The traffic, the noise, the pollution, the bars on the windows and locks on the doors. After living in a small crime-less community in the mountains for over 20 years, city buzz did nothing for me. So, we ended up going back to where we came from.
This happened just before the annual music festival. As I walked around from booth to booth at the music festival, something caught my eye. It was a woman who was painting spirit pictures for people. I waited for my turn, and when she asked me what I wanted her to paint, I told her about my menopausal anguish and asked her to paint something that could make the transition easier for me.
She picked a paper with a beautiful green blob painted on it, and started making a menopausal Goddess picture for me - a gorgeous woman with long, gray hair, and wrinkles, holding her hands up towards me, blessing me and welcoming me to the next stage in my life - menopause.
I loved the picture so much that I put it on my night stand so I could see it every morning. At the same time, I had decided that if I was unemployable, I just had to make the best out of it and draw from my own resources instead. Looking inside, I asked myself what I wanted to do, and I was instantly inspired to create a line of green beauty products and I called it Green Beauty Cosmetics.
It wasn't until two years later, I woke up one morning and looked at my green Goddess picture, when I suddenly realized that SHE was Green Beauty! Not only had she welcomed me to menopause, but also inspired me to create my new business! And, I found myself in awe, realizing how it all came about, and how inspiration comes from the strangest places. So, this is the REAL story behind the creation of Green Beauty Cosmetics. I hope you enjoyed it...
My Green Beauty Cosmetics Business
My line of Green Beauty products is one of my contributions to the world. This was a dream that I manifested into a thriving business in 2009.
I believe that you have to be the change you want, so I took on the task of creating a green beauty company that was devoted to creating non-toxic products.
Since I studied chemistry in my early days and I worked in different hospital labs as a lab technician for 2 years, I felt that I had enough experience to pull it off, and even though I did it, the process was a lot harder than I had ever imagined! Now that I have figured out all of my formulas, making green beauty products is actually really fun - a little bit of this, a little bit of that...
I always know what I want the finished product to be like, even though I don't always know how to create it. The trick is to figure out how to get the right feel, texture and smell, and the biggest challenge in natural skin care formulation is how to make a stable solution! To check for stability, I bring my products with me to the local swimming pool and let them sit in my hot bag for hours, and if they don't separate, then I know I have a good product (just, don't try this at home...)
Since I started my new company, I have used only my own products, and my skin has greatly improved. It is no longer dull, dry or rough, the oil production has normalized, the texture has improved and the lines around my eyes are less apparent. This is good, since I am not ready to get "old" yet.
I would love to keep my smooth looking, radiant skin for as long as I can, and I'm sure others feel the same way. The truth is that no matter how mature we get, the spirit is still so fresh and young on the inside, so when we look in the mirror, it is natural to want the outside to match how we feel on the inside!
So, lets pamper ourselves with luxurious green beauty products that make us look as radiant on the outside as we feel on the inside. And, remember:
The greatest beauty comes from shining your light as bright as you can!
That is why we are here...
